I started teaching reading at Patrick Henry in 2010. I am from Buffalo, N.Y. and went to Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. There I earned an undergraduate degree in elementary education. I taught kindergarten for a few years and then took a break and took care of my own kids. After a few years at home, I went back to school and earned a masters in reading from George Mason University and an English as a second language certification.
I now live in Arlington.I enjoy spending time with my family. I have two daughters, two sons, one husband and one dog. We like going on hikes in some of the nature trails in Arlington and going out to dinner. I also love reading, running, doing pilates and playing with my dog.
I love helping kids learn to read. Seeing a child who was unable to read and then be able to read and build their confidence is incredible.
