📆 School Board Approves April 21 Change to 2025-26 School Year Calendar

At its meeting on March 26, the School Board approved a change to the 2025-26 school calendar to designate April 21 as a no-school day for students, due to a special election taking place on April 21, with high voter turnout anticipated across the Commonwealth. A significant number of APS schools will serve as polling locations, requiring public access to school facilities during the instructional day. This level of access would disrupt normal school operations and limit APS’s ability to maintain a secure learning environment for students and staff.  The following changes were approved for April 21:

  • April 21, 2026, is now a no-school day for all students.
  • April 21 2026, is now a Countywide Professional Learning Day for all staff.
